In true AlTonya fashion, I thought this book was cery good. Character development was good. I would like to see stories on some of the other females introduced in this story. If you like a good romance - buy it. Worth the price. have actually read it twice.
Good read captured my interest in the beginning but loses something near the end when the male lead becomes controlling. Ending a little flat.
I have read several books by these author and I have enjoyed most of them. But this one was disappointing. At the beginning, Kedra is portrayed as a strong focused intelligent woman, who is president of a magazine, started by her parents. I won't tell the story in too much detail but SPOILER ALERT Kedra's husband is trying to sell her magazine. Kimar is trying to buy the magazine, which btw, Kedra DOES NOT want to sell. But that doesn't matter because we find as we read that it never matters what Kedra wants. If Kimar wants it, it happens. If he doesn't, it doesn't. He lies to Kedra constantly, but he is portrayed to be a much better prospect that her husband Chaz. Everytime Kedra goes to friends and family for support, they tell her how great and attractive Kimar is and she should just ignore his controlling and lying ways. I personally thought the book would have been much better if she fought back her herself a few times when she was lied to and manipulated by both men.
Kedra and Chaz never should've married. When I first started reading this book I thought Chaz was the man in power being as though he was never around, was not supportive of his wife's pregnancy, and had a mistress. I would've loved to know what she saw in him that made her want to marry him.
I saw through Lisha's facade as soon as the story shifted in her direction. Did anyone else?
Kimar exuded arragonce that just takes your breath away as soon you see him. He had all the quality's women look for in a man. He was gentle but not a pushover, arrogant -- but not selfish, has money, and a good paying job. Some women will never admit to the money part, but trust me, standards do exist and women have them.
Altonya, I absolutely love the way you give all of the leading men in your novels a dangerous edge. It takes my breath away, each time I read one of your novels. Don't know why. It's just something about a "bad boy" that turns women on.
Marrying the wrong man is the worst mistake a woman can make. I'm just happy she was able to snap back. Not everyone is that lucky.
